okay well things you should KNOW

I’ve been wanting make a figure skater muse since the dawn of time and literally just out of impulse went I might as well once I stumbled into this rp and I’m a little emotional and a lot excited so--

born in Busan to a teacher mom and a dad employed at SK Telekom

has a sibling who he adores very much *

started ice skating properly when he was about 9. but didn’t actually start legit training until a year later

changed dream careers as a kid constantly so when he first expressed wanting to become a figure skater his parents obviously didn’t take it that seriously. Jisoo himself didn’t either I mean he just got very intrigued and inspired by everything lmao BUT yeah so it stuck and all and here we are

let it be known if it wasn’t for Kim Yuna he wouldn’t be here!! also Johnny Weir his other source of great inspiration god bless that man. lets not forget Yuzuru either is he even human, still breaking records left and right wow Jisoo could ne v ER

opportunities and facilities etc were kinda all around shitty at Busan tho so he moved to Seoul for coaching around 2007

lived at his aunt’s place for the most part, grew pretty close with his cousin over the years & basically sees them as a second sibling **

worked his ass off juggling between school and training and part time jobs

quick run of the timeline

( jsyk a figure skating season starts at July 1st and ends next year June 30th )

( the level of prestige of the competitive series from when he started used to be:

other domestic -> nationals -> other internationals -> grand prix -> ISU championships ( aka the world championship etc )

2014 season added the challenger series between other int. and grand prix

2015 season dropped domestic and nationals off the list entirely

so now it’s looking like:

other internationals -> challenger series -> grand prix -> ISU championships

and you can add the winter olympics being held in SK next year at the top of that chain

also grand prix series is invite only and the final has six spots for the highest ranking singles in each category so GOOD LUCK GETTING THERE

anyway to the actual damn point--

2012-2013 season was his debut into the competitive scene, spent entirely within novice level as his start was pretty rough but he got through it eventually and got some medals too from the lower series’

2013-2014 was a tad rocky too but he managed to do well enough to get several medals in the internationals, moving to junior level late in the season. all the while trying to focus on school

so while he was participating in all that Jisoo managed to finish high school and near immediately come March flied off to America to train

2014-2015

baby got his first invitation to the junior grand prix, also competed in the challenger series and placed well-- in the grand prix he got gold and bronze, qualifying him for the finals which landed silver ;u;

this was followed by placing 4th in the junior world championship in 2015

2015-2016

was booted up to senior level. more bc he wasn’t eligible for junior anymore being too old lmao did pretty well in the challenger series, got one bronze and a 4th placement from the grand prix placements but unfortunately they weren’t enough to carry him to the final

placed 5th in the four continents championship

moved back to Seoul in April

2016-2017

got two medals from the challenger series ay~ got silver & bronze from the grand prix series, ended up 6th in the finals but like he got there that was more than enough ( not really )

placed 6th in the four continents championship and 8th in the world championships in early 2017 goddamn

2017-2018

SO NOW

got one gold medal from the challenger series this season, that competition was held like a week ago in Slovakia so feel free to congratulate my boy he’d appreciate it  ( just don’t mention the other one which he royally fucked up by falling on his ass during a jump. still got 5th bc technique wise he got it down ) 

he’s been invited to the senior grand prix competitions held in China & France, both of which take place in November so yeah he’s STRESSING

doesn’t really do flings anymore or much of one night stands unless he’s outta town and expects to never run into the other person. as in basically goes to hunt some ass after every competition before tailing it out cause he got a plane to catch thanks bye

thing is tho he flirts with everyone so??? but lowkey. will flirt with you and your friends your mom and your neighbour and the grandma down the street and their dog and the cashier and the bus driver-- it’s a problem

is a sweetheart n tries to be everyone’s friend or at the very least hold neutral ground but gets temperamental real fast if things don’t go his way or you’re being a douche. either it’s this explosive in your face or ice cold glaring. holds grudges to the grave, don’t be THAT person.

extremely guarded with his feelings but it shows in his eyes so ha

affectionate in general but he doesn’t push it if that isn’t welcome

likes giving people advice, whether it’s welcome or not.

gossip mill. honestly easiest way to have his attention is to start talking shit about other people lmao

loves junk food it’s a guilty pleasure but he has a strict diet to follow. will cry if you eat pizza in front of him knowing he can’t have it. that’s cruel. don’t do that.

lives off tea and coffee and protein shakes tbh

the one who’s kinda - totally - starstruck by Jisoo and he finds it almost endearing. fluff his ego yea he’s into that 

on the other side of the coin, someone who thinks figure skating is stupid and easy and listen he’s not having any of that shit why don’t you try it then HUH?!

need me a dance choreographer to help with some of his programs. also if there’s anyone who works with music that could be a fun collaboration too

so he sometimes coaches/teaches kids but you personally asked him for help bc you’re basically bambi on ice and he agreed bc why not. if nothing he gets a good laugh out of it
